You Have Now Reached (2022) is a video instillation piece composed of a 9 min 36 sec video piece along with a 5’ 7” sculpture. It is a continuation of No Going Back (2021) (see below).
The chrysalis-like sculpture hangs from the ceiling as the video projects out of an opening in the sculpture, and onto a wall. The sculpture is made of cotton, hair, blue plastic gems, water, paprika, cayenne pepper, a light bulb, chicken-wire, and miscellaneous fabrics.
The video takes place one year after No Going Back (2021), and as Brock’s Senior Thesis, expands on and further analyzes the internal state of change and transformation. Through the subjectivity of the artist’s body and experiences of femininity, Blackness, growth, grief, and freedom of expression Brock explores the fluid, internal realm of transformation.

No Going Back (2021) is a video-instillation piece composed of a 3 min 16 sec video piece along with a sculptural piece.
The video portion plays as the sculpture pulses, lit by three candles that float in a bowl of water and lavender, inside the open sculpture. Orange satin cases the inside of this shell, while the outside is structured by miscellaneous paper scraps with various words and writings.
The video portion examines the inner and outer workings of transformation and rebirth. It takes place within moments of change as the artist attempts to face the discomfort, and then acceptance, of the transitional phase they find themselves in.
